As a community, we find ourselves at Shir Ami to learn, to pray, to socialize, and often, to volunteer. We have heard that many congregants love attending Shir Ami services, but desire appropriate structure and decorum in the sanctuary. Most of the time, this is not a problem. But on occasion, small disruptions can impact the worship experience of the rest of the community.
We have created a corps of volunteer ushers for Shabbat services during the year - men and women who appreciate the quality of the spiritual life of this congregation and are prepared to help raise it to higher levels of sanctity. Moreover, this role allows them to offer a warm welcome to congregants as they enter the synagogue on a Friday evening.
Please volunteer to help make our weekly services a special, respectful environment by ushering.
