Shir Ami has a long history of helping others. We are a community that works to meet the needs of persons within and beyond the walls of our congregation. Filled with the spirit of Tikun Olam—mending the world—hundred of volunteers of every age reach out into the community to make a difference. For many, the concept of tikkun olam involves volunteering to relieve suffering, care for the earth or raise awareness on a variety of different issues. Please check the calendar for upcoming events and opportunities to get involved.
Ways to help and get involved include: SIMCHA, Israel Advocacy, Caring Committee, Life Long Learning, Mitzvah Day, Youth Group, College Connection, Families Together, Library Committee, Maven Knitters and Community Relationships.
The Volunteer Committee oversees a volunteer database to fill the needs of various committees and functions throughout Shir Ami. It also strives to help connect members seeking involvement in synagogue life with areas and projects that suit their interests and talents.
Please contact Jodi Friedman the synagogue office at 215-968-3400 to get involved.
