The Chesed Committee (formerly Shir Ami Cares), the caring committee here at Shir Ami, provides much needed support to congregants going through difficult times. This support can take many forms; a verbal hug, a delivered meal, or help with errands and household needs. For the family who needs continued support for long term difficulties, we offer a
constant contact.
The Chesed Committee (formerly Shir Ami Cares) is also able to provide a minyan service leader should you require it.
JOIN THE COMMITTEE
Duties and responsibilities usually only occur about 2 weeks throughout year. Members rotate through the calendar and are notified by the Committee Leader of congregants in need. Members can also sign up to be a
constant contact for an individual(s) congregant(s) to be in touch during a long-term difficulty. In addition, members can sign up to be a Shiva Minyan Leader (the committee can provide guidance on how to conduct a Minyan, so don't stress!).
Meetings are not usually held. We can keep you informed through email or a phone call.
For more information about joining the committee, or if you are in need of some assistance to get through a difficult time, please contact Randi Preissman at
